A Couple of Tips to Lend a Hand with Coping with Bidding on eBay:

1) Every time an update is made to a category, items that were listed after the previous update are inserted at the top of both the Featured and All Items sections. Items are inserted at the top of each list and are scrolled down and onto the next page as new items are added.

2) Paying by cheques and money orders: This is payment the old-fashioned way, and will lead to a long wait to your item. You need to post the cheque or money order, then the seller has to take it to the bank and get it cleared, and only then do they send the item. The only reason to use this method is if either you or the seller distrusts electronic payment methods. If you're willing to go to the trouble with these sellers, though, you might get an item very cheaply, as most buyers just can't be bothered. When you pay by cheque or money order, make sure to print the eBay order confirmation page (you will receive it via email) and put it in the envelope with your payment. Underline or circle important information like your mailing address and the item number. Finally, remember to have patience: maintain communication with the seller, as it surprisingly can take a month or two before everything comes together and your item shows up.

3) If the item you are viewing has unclear pictures, email the seller and ask them for better pictures.

4) Most sellers offer a reasonable return and refund policy. Make sure to check for a seller's return policy before you bid. If the seller has not provided a return policy, get clarification via email.

5) eBay is an easy place for unscrupulous sellers to market counterfeit merchandise, which can be difficult for novice buyers to distinguish without careful study of the auction description.

Millions of collectibles, appliances, computers, furniture, equipment, vehicles, and other miscellaneous items are listed, bought, and sold daily. The company's current business strategy includes increasing revenue by increasing international trade within the eBay system.
