1) Each time you buy or sell something on eBay, people can leave feedback for you, and you can leave feedback for them.
2) Sellers won't generally be reluctant to sell to buyers without much of a reputation, simply because it is the buyer who takes most of the risk in a transaction.
3) Circumspectly read the item description. Do not bid on a listing where the ship to locations clearly do not include the area at which you live.
4) If an item does not show the shipping charges, always get a quote from the seller before you place your bid. Some seller charge exorbitant shipping fees, and you have no recourse if you did not clarify it with the seller before you placed your bid.
5) After every transaction both the buyer and seller have the option of rating each other.
Millions of collectibles, appliances, computers, furniture, equipment, vehicles, and other miscellaneous items are listed, bought, and sold daily. Over the years, eBay has introduced all sorts of different auction types, in an effort to give people more options when they buy and sell their things on eBay.
