Tips to Lend a Hand to You with Buying on eBay:

1) If a bidder currently has the highest bid on an item, the bidder cannot raise their own bid by rebidding. However, they can change their maximum bid price.

2) After every transaction both the buyer and seller have the option of rating each other.

3) Most sellers offer a reasonable return and refund policy. Make sure to check for a seller's return policy before you bid. If the seller has not provided a return policy, get clarification via email.

4) If, in a Reserve Listing, the bidder bids an amount lower than the reserve, the bid will increment up according to the rules for proxy bidding. Though the amount for "currently" will increase accordingly, the reserve indication will remain "reserve not met".

5) Do not get caught in a bid chasing race. Decide what is the maximum you want to pay for an item and enter that as your maximum amount. If you happen to lose the auction, remember that it is a large market and similar items appear often.
