Information to Aid You with Getting the Most out of eBay:

1) If the item you are viewing has unclear pictures, email the seller and ask them for better pictures.

2) Exclude words in your search: Put a minus, and then put any words in brackets that you don't want to appear in your search results. For example: "Pulp Fiction" -(poster,photo) will find items related to Pulp Fiction but not posters or photos.

3) Do not get caught in a bid chasing race. Decide what is the maximum you want to pay for an item and enter that as your maximum amount. If you happen to lose the auction, remember that it is a large market and similar items appear often.

4) The number of bids displayed on a listing is the actual number of bids. It does not necessarily show the actual number of bidders, since a bidder may bid more than once.

5) Try browsing the eBay Stores. eBay Stores are a way for sellers to offer buyers both auction and fixed-price merchandise through an online storefront. You can get to the Stores either from the main eBay home page, or from the category display pages, where you will see a link.

The company's current business strategy includes increasing revenue by increasing international trade within the eBay system. Over the years, eBay has introduced all sorts of different auction types, in an effort to give people more options when they buy and sell their things on eBay.

An Interesting Fact about eBay:

On 14 June 2005, eBay removed auction listings for originally free tickets to the Live 8 charity auction amid hundreds of complaints about such auctions.
