1) You will often find that your positive feedback appears within a few minutes of you paying if you pay as soon as the auction ends.
2) Do not get caught in a bid chasing race. Decide what is the maximum you want to pay for an item and enter that as your maximum amount. If you happen to lose the auction, remember that it is a large market and similar items appear often.
3) Either/or in your search: If you want to search for lots of words at once, just put them in brackets: the TV example from earlier could become '(TV,television)', which would find items with either word.
4) If a buyer has problems, he or she can rate the seller "negative" and leave a comment such as "never received product".
5) If the item you are viewing has unclear pictures, email the seller and ask them for better pictures.
Over the years, eBay has introduced all sorts of different auction types, in an effort to give people more options when they buy and sell their things on eBay. The company's current business strategy includes increasing revenue by increasing international trade within the eBay system.
A Tidbit of eBay History:
In May 2000, eBay seller Kenneth Walton auctioned an oil painting on eBay for 5,805, due to speculation that the it might be the work of California modernist Richard Diebenkorn.
